Ashtanga Yoga “BASICS” is a great way to begin or to deepen your knowledge of this amazing practice.

Each class will have a focus on a particular aspect of the Primary Series.

We will have a “mini workshop” on all the most important components and eventually cover in detail the following:

  • Ujjayi breathing
  • Bandhas and how to combine them with the breath
  • Movement and Breath
  • Sun Salutations A & B
  • The Standing Sequence
  • Seated postures, variation and modifications
  • Jumpbacks and Jumpthroughs and how to develop a foundation to achieve them
  • Back bends and inversions
  • Finishing sequence.

This systematic approach will ensure a complete understanding of where you are now, and were you are going, and how you can get the most out of your practice.

A safe, enjoyable, rewarding evolution will result.

This will lead you into your own self-practice, level 2 classes, Mysore style classes or the confidence to attend Ashtanga Yoga classes anywhere in the world.

Ashtanga Yoga requires commitment, dedication and regularity.
